in just a little over two weeks, my pop's and myself will be in istanbul! i can't wait! i'm trying to prepare myself for everything expect, such as the food, the customs and even the language. i've heard from multiple sources already that even though i could easily get through my trip in a jiffy with knowing little to no turkish at all, it can really make your trip that much better by knowing some basic turkish phrases and words. i've always been terrible at languages; i nearly flunked french and fucking hated learning it every step of the way, but this time i'm determined! i thought i'd give it a whirl and try to memorize at least a few basics. i found this series of educational turkish language videos on youtube and they've been great! check it out:

right around this time, jesse and i celebrate our anniversary. love is in the air folks; i'm a lucky lady and i'm ever so happy. hey, let's all celebrate! here's a little playlist of my favorite love songs, so turn up the volume and dip the person closest to you!

When you ask for a bite of food and your friend says,
“Actually, you can have the rest.”

my boyfriend is the best. starting this past monday, jesse and a few fellow musicians/over-all good guys have been going to schools in and outside of the GTA to play a whole slew of live music for little kids mostly ranging from kindergartners to grade two's, teaching them about popular music, canadian music, giving a bit of a music history lesson and over all blowing these little kids minds. here's jesse (first photo) with a group of kids, mid autograph session. then below is my good friend tom giving a few autographs to some adorable little guys! how fucking cute and awesome is this! we need more stuff like this going on in schools and for our kids who have minds like silly putty; ready to be shaped and molded!

when you expose kids to stuff like this, it can end up becoming a life long inspiration for all of them to do and be great things and those are the kind of kids that i hope to raise on day. keep up the great work, boys.

my scores from yesterday's buffalo bargain trip with lindsay darling!

my favorite giant cluster-fuck of music dance party FUCK IT is back at clinton's this friday and i can hardly contain myself. the ladies of bangs & blush had to cancel last month's fuck it party due to the clinton's staff fishing trip, so this month is their triumphant return and i'm already sweatin'! check out this delicious, hilarious and completely guilty taster of a playlist they've made to make us wiggle in our seat with excitement for the weekend! turn it up and enjoy.

watch this. and get ready for this summer, because from far and wide will finally make it's debut - and even alan cross (yes, the alan cross) is as excited as i am. read the article here.

i just wanted to mention that first and formost, jeremy panda - the man with the plan - is a good friend of mine, as well as other members of the from far and wide family, and what they've got going here is fucking incredible. the cinematography is stunning, the bands and artists were all carefully chosen and are all fantastic in their own ways,  the team are all wonderful people with strong and successful backgrounds and i can barely wait to see the final product. please take a few minutes out of your day and watch... for the sake of canadian music.
