my partner lindsay and i (together, we are Bangs & Blush) always have people thinking, unless we explain beforehand that we're djs, that we own a salon. ha! we may not be beauty experts or salon professionals but we take pride in how lovely we look and lindsay has decided to share with you her personal 5 favorite can't-live-without must-haves!

1. Hot Tools Curling Iron

"I'm not kidding when I say I could not live without this curling iron. I recently ventured to Switzerland and was having nightmares over the thought of my curling iron not working with an adapter. CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT."

2. L'Oreal Vive Pro Nutri-Gloss Shampoo & Conditioner

"I heat style my hair every day so naturally I have dabbled in the realm of expensive shampoos and conditioners but absolutely nothing beats this line when it come to repairing my fried locks."

3. Mac "Pink Swoon" Blush

"I bought this blush exclusively for it's name and now I cannot live without it."

4. La Mer

"It's ridiculous how expensive this moisturizer is but once you're hooked it's a more expensive addiction then heroin."

5. LaCoupe Volume Hairspray

"This hairspray is magic. I love it so much that I have a travel size in my DJ bag at all times. It will literally hold my curls overnight. Hands down best hairspray on the market."

THINGS I LOVE FRIDAYS

THE B52'S my folks tell me that when i was a wee one, rock lobster rocked my world. on repeat. over and over and over again. poor mum and dad. but my love for the 52'ers lives on! their style when it comes to clothing, music, live show, hair do's... everything is incredible. sometimes i wish that i could've had the chance to see them live in the late 70's when they were just a group of art school drop outs. my god, how much fucking cooler can you get.

WAKING UP NEXT TO YOUR BEAU you wake up, the sun hits your face, you scratch and stretch and yawn and moan about having to even contemplate getting out of bed. and then you turn your head to the side, look over and see your sweetie-pie in a deep sleep. eyes shut, mouth partially open, deep breaths and maybe even a little bit of drool in the corner of their mouth. isn't it just heavenly? i wake up every morning with a smile on my face.

BACK MASSAGES who the hell doesn't like back massages? you'd have to have no fucking heart, soul or nerve endings to not enjoy a back massage. i don't even need a massage to be rough, or hard pressed... even just finger tips lightly touching is heavenly. i swear, makes me fall asleep instantly. like a baby. a step-away from sucking my thumb GOOD. i want one noooow!

tomorrow one of my best friends is getting married. talk about total mind fuck. luckily enough the girl has a good head on her shoulders, so she managed to find a nice boy with the same. t-minus a few hours it's going to be a fucking 48 hour wedding shit show.

THINGS I LOVE FRIDAYS COMES EARLY THIS WEEK!

yours truly is super psyched to be heading to my cottage this weekend; it's been over three years since i've been and i'm looking forward to doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. so, due to my absence here's things i love friday a day early!

SPLURGING ON EXPENSIVE MAGAZINES the other day i was in the mood for a little magazine shopping spree and got myself a couple of uk vogues and some other fancy, heavy weight publications that i usually wouldn't be interested in putting down the coin for. it's too bad that more magazines in canada aren't like the ones you get in the uk. sigh.

CARDIGAN WEATHER don't get me wrong, i love summer. i am a summer baby. but the heat has been somewhat overwhelming for me this season and the opportunity to walk about without sweating buckets with a cute little cardigan is always something that will excite me and therefore make me a nerd. neeeeeerd!

MY DRESS-BUYING ADDICTION i have this minor problem where i would like, if i could, to wear a different dress for every occasion i attend? but then i have to remind myself that i am not angelina jolie and to get with the fucking program. but i still go out and get something new and frilly every chance i get; mind you, i'm a real penny pincher and am constantly on the look-out for a deal. like this cute little number i picked up last week; so cute my dj partner lindsay got herself one in black! now we have to fight over who gets to wear it.

THINGS I LOVE FRIDAYS

FANTASTIC LEFT-OVERS i love heading to the fridge to prepare a meal without any real idea in mind and opening it up to see that there's an array of tasty left-overs to all combine together to create a flavor sensation. for example, as i am typing this i am nibbling on this amazing home made burrito i threw together using a whole bunch of grilled veggies from last night's dinner, marinated ground beef, and simply cut up some fresh onions, cheese and tomato. still, nothing ever beats left-over chinese food.

LINDSAY my dj partner, 1/2 of Bangs & Blush and killer gal pal. not only is she one cool chick, but we can shop together. and most of the time we end up getting the same things. it's insane.
